About Dr. Rhonda Savain

Dr. Rhonda Gumbs-Savain is the President and Founder of Legacy Nurse Prep and Life Coaching, launching in 2026. After 22 years as President and Co-Founder of Ready to Pass, Inc. (2003–2025), she led its evolution into Legacy to better serve today’s nurses through comprehensive NCLEX preparation and expanded life-coaching support for LPN and RN students. The foundation of Legacy was built long before the name change, beginning with her partnership with cofounder Derrice Gordon, MSN, FNP, RN. Together, they supported thousands of nursing students nationwide, driven by a shared commitment to education, access, and student success. Dr. Savain began her nursing journey as an LPN, graduating from the Hillcrest High School LPN program in Queens, New York, and went on to earn a BSN from SUNY Downstate, a master’s degree in nursing administration from Adelphi University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Florida.
A certified Teacher of Practical Nursing and Health in New York State and New York City, Dr. Savain was nominated for Teacher of the Year in 1999 and has served as a hospital corpsman in the United States Naval Reserve, a registered nurse in major New York City hospitals, and an assistant professor of nursing in both associate and baccalaureate programs.

Her leadership at Hillcrest High School’s LPN program—including curriculum revision and development—helped the program achieve the highest NCLEX® pass rate among New York City high schools during her tenure. In 2003, she pioneered an NCLEX® review program supporting foreign-educated nurses, repeat test-takers, and new graduates across all 50 states and more than 400 countries. A founder and former curriculum and student development director at Transitions Career Institute School of Nursing, Dr. Savain is known for her resilience, service-driven leadership, and unwavering commitment to helping nurses succeed. Welcome to Legacy—an environment built to guide, challenge, and support you as you rise with strength, confidence, and pride.

About Ready to Pass

Ready to Pass NCLEX® Review has helped LPN and RN nursing students pass the NCLEX® for over 22 years. We employed the use of easy-to-understand, real-world teaching that yielded results. We taught students how to think like a nurse, not just memorize facts. Thousands of LPNs and RNs across all 50 states and 400 countries trusted Ready to Pass when the pressure was high and time was short. Now it is time to grow. Legacy Nurse Prep & Life Coaching is the next chapter. Legacy builds on the same proven NCLEX® foundation but goes deeper with mindset, confidence, test strategy, and life coaching so you do not just pass the exam, you step into nursing strong, prepared, and unshaken. After the passing of our co-founder, Derrice Gordon MSN, FNP, RN in 2025, we chose to honor her legacy by continuing the work with purpose, strength, and a renewed vision for the future.

About Ready to Pass

Ready to Pass was an NCLEX® test prep program that helps nurses-to-be pass while also setting them up for a great career in nursing. Our experienced instructors use real-life applications to help students think like a nurse, approaching the exam with the thought process of a veteran nurse. With a commitment to our profession and the nursing field, we are passionate about raising upcoming nurses to be in a position to best serve others as we’re called to do.
